1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Hospify (“Hospify”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on hospify.co.uk and the Hospify application (together, the “Platform”).
It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
We use cookies in line with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR. Cookies that are not strictly necessary are only set with your consent.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the site remember things about your visit, such as whether you are signed in or which language you prefer.
Similar technologies – such as local storage, session storage, pixels and scripts – work in comparable ways. In this Policy we refer to all of them as “cookies”.
First-party cookies are set by Hospify. Third-party cookies are set by other organisations whose services we use, such as analytics or payment providers.
3. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Platform to work and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as signing in or setting a preference. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning service; they do not require consent.
- Authentication and session – cookies set by Supabase, our authentication provider, to keep you signed in and to protect the sign-in flow (for example cookies beginning
sb-). They are refreshed while you use the Platform and removed when you sign out or your session expires. - Cookie consent preference – we store your choice from the cookie banner (
cookie_consent_status) in your browser’s local storage so we do not ask you again and so we know whether to load analytics. - Preferences – cookies that remember your language (
lang), display theme (theme) and, in the app, whether the sidebar is open (sidebar:state). - Hosting and security – Vercel, our hosting provider, may set cookies needed to route your requests, protect the Platform from abuse and bots, and serve it reliably.
4. Analytics Cookies
With your consent we use analytics to understand how the Platform is used – which pages are visited, how people find jobs and venues, and where things break – so we can improve it. These cookies and scripts are only loaded after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) – sets first-party cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*to distinguish visitors and sessions and to measure page views and actions such as searching for or applying to a job. Google may also use this data for its own purposes as described in its privacy policy. Data may be transferred outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. - Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc.) – measures page views and visitor counts. It does not set cookies and does not build cross-site profiles, but we still treat it as analytics and only enable it with your consent.
If you reject analytics cookies, or do not make a choice, neither service is loaded.
5. Error Monitoring
We use Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) to capture errors and performance problems so we can fix them. Sentry does not set cookies for tracking; it receives technical details about the error, your browser and the page you were on. Inside the signed-in application, a small sample of sessions may be recorded (with text masked) to help us reproduce bugs. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the Platform working reliably.
6. Payment Cookies
Paid plans are billed through Stripe (Stripe Payments UK Ltd). Stripe sets cookies only on the checkout and billing pages it hosts, for fraud prevention and to complete your payment securely. These are necessary to provide the service you have asked for and are governed by Stripe’s own cookie and privacy policies. Stripe is not loaded on other pages of the Platform.
7. Summary
| Category | Provider | Purpose | Consent |

| Payments | Stripe | Secure checkout and fraud prevention | Not required (checkout pages only) |
8. Managing and Withdrawing Consent
When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept or Reject analytics cookies. Rejecting keeps the Platform working with strictly necessary cookies only.
You can change your mind at any time. Use the button below to clear your saved choice; the banner will appear again so you can choose afresh. If you withdraw consent, we stop loading analytics from that point, but cookies already set by Google may remain until they expire or you delete them in your browser.
You have not made a choice yet.
9. Browser Controls
Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in and may prevent parts of the Platform from working.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy as the Platform or the services we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes to how we use cookies will be reflected in the banner.
