% Arabica

% Arabica ("% ΔRΔBICΔ") is the Kyoto-born specialty coffee brand founded by Kenneth Shoji, who opened its flagship in Higashiyama in September 2014 after buying a coffee farm in Hawaii and becoming a green-bean trader and distributor of Slayer espresso machines. Its motto is "See the World Through Coffee": minimalist, design-led stores (many by Puddle Inc.) serving espresso, lattes and its signature Kyoto Latte, with beans roasted in-house at flagship sites. The brand now has well over 200 stores worldwide; in the UK it runs four London cafés — Covent Garden (its first UK store, 2019), Broadway Market (the UK flagship with an in-house roaster), Spitalfields Market and Battersea Power Station.
