Bar Hashery

Bar Hashery is an independent café and bakery group in York, "good food and real hospitality" whatever the size of the site. It started in 2022 with the takeover of the Bootham café — home of York's only savoury waffles — then added a coffee kiosk on Platform 10/11 at York station in 2024, a small bakery on Micklegate, a flagship bakeshop on Parliament Street in 2025, and finally moved its baking to the largest bakery in York, the Layerthorpe bakery and café, where locals, families and students can watch the live bakery kitchen, brunch with a coffee or stay for an evening grill and a pint. Also supplies wholesale bakes and takes group and venue bookings.
