Joule's Brewery
Joule's is an independent Shropshire brewer with over 200 years of history, brewing from Market Drayton and caring for a growing estate of around 43 Taphouses across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, the West Midlands and Wales. Each Taphouse is a historic pub carefully restored - over half are listed buildings - and run as a brewery tap for its area, from the Coopers Tavern in Burton and the Red Lion in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter to the Henry Tudor Inn in Shrewsbury and the Royal Oak in Wrexham. The focus is deliberately on traditional pubs and well-kept cask ale drawn by hand. Pubs are let rather than managed - Joule's advertises Pubs to Let and runs open days for prospective licensees - so recruitment at each Taphouse sits with its own tenants, while the brewery employs its brewing, sales and visitor teams.
