Warrens Bakery is the oldest Cornish pasty maker in the world, founded in St Just near Land's End in 1860 when a farmer's son and a baker's daughter united two families' recipes. Still hand-crimping pasties to those recipes, it now runs around 40 bakery shops across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Bristol, plus railway-station units at Bath Spa, Basingstoke, Slough, Cardiff and London Liverpool Street and counters in Trago Mills stores and filling stations. Headquartered at Gweek near Helston, it hires sales assistants, supervisors and store managers and runs hospitality and production-chef apprenticeships.
