The Duke of Northumberland - or "The Clock", as city-centre drinkers and regulars know it - stands on Clayton Street in the heart of Newcastle. The building traces back to the late 1700s as a grand town house before being converted into a pub in 1832, and has served the city ever since. Its nickname comes from the grand clock that once marked the building's focal point: "I'll meet you under the clock, hinny". Part of Malhotra Leisure.
