The Oak Bistro occupies the Grade II listed former Oak coaching inn on the corner of Lensfield Road, a short walk from the Fitzwilliam Museum. Open since 2009, it serves home-made classic British and European cooking — à la carte plus set-price lunch and early-evening menus Tue–Fri — with a wine list of over 100 bins. Dine inside among original paintings by Cambridge artist Nicholas Juett, in the covered, heated courtyard that was once the stable yard, or in the private room for special occasions. Hours: lunch Tue–Sat 12–2:30pm, dinner Mon–Sat 5:30–9:30pm, closed Sunday.
