Nicholson’s Pubs are known for their individual style, exciting stories, and charming personalities — and The Wellington is certainly no exception. Dating back to 1903, this The Wellington is famous for it’s stunning neo-gothic interiors, including the impressive ground floor sculpted ceiling, stained glass windows and it’s large, cosy, original marble fireplace. The Wellington is named after Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, who famously defeated Napoleon in 1815, bringing an end to the Napoleonic Wars. He later went on to become Prime Minister.
