Pilpel — "for the people" — is a London falafel chain born on 5 May 2009 at 38 Brushfield Street, Spitalfields, when its founder set out to keep his grandfather Zion's 60-year-old falafel recipe rolling. Pilpel means chilli pepper, the nickname Gramps gave him for the fire in his spirit, and the Pilpel Factor runs through everything: falafel crispy outside and succulent inside, crunchy salads fresh every day from local markets, the pick of dozens of chickpea varieties, friendly staff who love what they do and restaurants that buzz with music. Seven City and East London sites — Spitalfields, Aldgate, Fenchurch Street, Lime Street, Fleet Street, St Paul's and Canary Wharf — with online ordering, and roles from team members and kitchen assistants to managers and head office.
