José Tapas Bar, 104 Bermondsey Street: where it all started in 2011 — a cult-favourite, Bib Gourmand, no-bookings tapas bar inspired by the bars around Barcelona's La Boquería and Andalucía. Open kitchen, counter and high seating, a daily-changing blackboard menu shaped by the market, acorn-fed jamón ibérico and 50 Spanish wines and sherries by the glass. Walk-in only; open Mon–Sat 12–10.15pm, Sun 12–9pm. Dogs welcome.
