Smokeworks

Smokeworks on Free School Lane is a low-lit American barbecue joint just off Bene't Street, open since 2014. Ribs, pulled meats and brisket are smoked on site in US smokers over kiln-dried British oak, with a bar on one side (12 beers on tap, 20 bourbons) and the restaurant on the other; downstairs the Puck & Pong Society has beer pong and shuffleboard. Famous for the light switch on every table that summons the staff. Hours: Mon–Thu 12–9pm, Fri–Sat 11:30am–9:30pm, Sun 11:30am–7:30pm.
