The Nursery Tavern
The Nursery Tavern is a Black Country Ales real ale pub at 38-39 Lord Street, Chapel Fields, Coventry. The Nursery Tavern stands in the Chapelfields area of Coventry, a neighbourhood shaped by Victorian terraced housing and long associated with traditional public houses. First licensed in 1852, the pub takes its name from local nurseryman Thomas Weare, whose gardens once stood nearby. The name reflects the area’s earlier landscape before the development of the surrounding streets. The bar has 10 handpumps of cask ale alongside traditional bar snacks such as cobs and pork pies. Open Mon–Thu 12pm–11pm, Fri–Sat 12pm–midnight, Sun 12pm–11pm.
