The Ship Inn is a sport-orientated pub on the high street in Wallsend and one of Quality Taverns' busiest sites. Irene, who runs it, is well known for her cooking and often puts on free bar snacks through the day. Fully refurbished inside and out in 2016, it has an upstairs function room for private hire that plays host to Newcastle United games on the big screen, plus several large screens carrying Sky and TNT Sports and two racing channels. There is a pool table and darts board.
