Castle Rock Brewery is a Nottingham brewer and pub company that began when Chris Holmes opened the Old King's Arms in Newark as an act of defiance against monopolistic brewers, focusing on real ale in homely surroundings. The brewery followed twenty years later beneath its iconic blue tower on Queensbridge Road, and in 2010 Harvest Pale was crowned Supreme Champion Beer of Britain. Today Castle Rock runs an eclectic family of over twenty pubs across the East Midlands and beyond - city-centre craft beer bars such as the Barley Twist, Kean's Head, Yarn and the Canalhouse, traditional locals like the Lincolnshire Poacher, Newshouse and Vat and Fiddle, country pubs including the Horse & Plough and Cricketers Rest, and community pubs in the leafy suburbs such as the Stratford Haven, Poppy and Pint, Bread and Bitter and Willowbrook, plus the Alexandra Hotel in Derby, the Golden Eagle in Lincoln, the Eagle in Boston, the Fox and Crown in Newark, the New Barrack Tavern in Sheffield and the Rook & Gaskill in York. Each pub is run to suit its own community, with cask beer at its heart. Vacancies are listed on the careers page or by email to the operations team.
